Job Description
A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher in a school located in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with special needs, ensuring they receive a personalized and inclusive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' specific needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student development and behavior to inform instructional strategies.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development sessions.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with a focus on Special Education.
- Experience working with children with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a commitment to student success.
