Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Oak Lawn, IL, starting immediately and continuing through the end of the school year. This contract role involves providing specialized instruction and care for Kindergarten and 1st grade students within a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized educational instruction to students with special needs in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the diverse learning requirements of each student.
  • Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to support student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor student performance and maintain accurate records to track growth and challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for special education programming.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Special Education Teacher license with LBS1 certification.
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in Kindergarten and 1st grade levels.
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
