Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-2 students in a dynamic elementary school setting this upcoming school year. This on-site, full-time contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to guide young learners and contribute to a collaborative school community. Two openings are currently available, each offering a 35-hour work week between 8:30AM and 4:00PM, beginning August 24, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active certification/licensure appropriate to the caseload.
- Eligibility for an emergency teaching permit (bachelors degree required).
- Demonstrated mastery of subject matter and expertise in instructional techniques.
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities.
- Previous instructional experience in a school, preferably within an urban environment.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, formative assessment, and personalized teaching aligned to state and district standards.
- Comfortable collaborating within diverse school settings and adapting to school-based expectations.
- Reliable transportation for consistent, on-time attendance.
- Able to secure all required Pennsylvania clearances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and individualize lesson plans according to student needs and grade-level standards.
- Employ a variety of instructional methods and assessments to support differentiated learning.
- Create a supportive and structured classroom environment, fostering positive student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to support student development.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely progress updates as part of a multidisciplinary team.
