Job Description
Support middle school students as a special education teacher, making a meaningful impact throughout the academic year. Youll collaborate closely with fellow educators while shaping an inclusive and engaging environment for learners with diverse needs. This contract, onsite position begins August 24, 2026, and runs through June 10, 2027. Work a consistent 35-hour week, with daily hours set between 8:30AM4PM or 8AM3:15PM.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active teaching certification/licensure for assigned caseload
- Bachelors degree (required for emergency teaching permit eligibility)
- Proven experience in school settings, ideally at the middle school level
- Strong instructional skills and mastery of special education subject matter
- Solid classroom and behavioral management skills
- History of working in urban educational environments
- Willingness to align lesson planning with state/district standards, using assessment and differentiated instruction
- Capability to complete all Pennsylvania state teacher clearances
- Reliable transportation to fulfill onsite duties
- Flexibility to work assigned schedule with no accommodations
- Professional comfort with district and urban location
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lesson plans catering to student needs and curriculum standards
- Adapt instruction based on ongoing assessment and individual learning styles
- Manage classroom effectively, fostering a safe, productive environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for student support
