Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity shaping the educational journey of middle and high school students as a Special Education Teacher. This is a full-time, onsite contract role commencing August 24, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027, catering specifically to those with a passion for supporting diverse learners.

Four dynamic positions are available, including one at the middle school level (hours between 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM, to be confirmed) and three at the high school level (7:15AM-2:45PM). At the high school, concentrations are available in Science, Math, and Social Studiesa fantastic chance for subject matter experts to guide pupils in their field.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active certification/licensure to teach special education
  • Bachelors degree (required for emergency teaching permit)
  • Completed PA clearances or willingness to obtain
  • Previous school-based experience
  • Reliable transportation is essential
  • Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities
  • Prior experience within urban settings
  • Proficient in designing lesson plans in alignment with current standards and differentiating instruction
  • Able to commit to a 35-hour work week within the specified timeframes, with no schedule accommodations offered
  • Comfortable integrating into district culture and expectations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support special education students in designated subjects
  • Prepare and deliver effective lesson plans that incorporate state/district standards
  • Assess student learning and adapt instruction using formative assessment
  • Implement strategies for classroom and behavioral management to foster a positive learning environment
