Take the next step in your career as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract position within an alternative education setting for the 20262027 school year. Make a meaningful difference working with students who have emotional and behavioral challenges in a supportive and structured classroom environment.
In this dynamic role, youll guide students with emotional disabilities (ED) at an alternative school, providing targeted instruction, helping implement effective behavior interventions, and fostering essential social-emotional growth. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting each students academic and personal success.
What youll bring:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education certification, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Demonstrated classroom teaching experience, particularly in ED, behavioral, or alternative settings (highly preferred).
- Well-developed classroom management and de-escalation skills.
- Calm demeanor and flexibility when working in high-needs, dynamic situations.
- Ability to collaborate with behavioral specialists, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to student-centered, individualized educational approaches.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Implement and follow behavior intervention plans; respond effectively to crisis situations.
- Design a structured, therapeutic, and predictable learning environment.
- Promote social-emotional skill development and model positive behavior.
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate actively in IEP meetings.
- Work closely with support staff to create consistent and collaborative interventions.
