In this dynamic role, youll guide students with emotional disabilities (ED) at an alternative school, providing targeted instruction, helping implement effective behavior interventions, and fostering essential social-emotional growth. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting each students academic and personal success.

What youll bring:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education certification, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience, particularly in ED, behavioral, or alternative settings (highly preferred).
• Well-developed classroom management and de-escalation skills.
• Calm demeanor and flexibility when working in high-needs, dynamic situations.
• Ability to collaborate with behavioral specialists, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to student-centered, individualized educational approaches.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
• Implement and follow behavior intervention plans; respond effectively to crisis situations.
• Design a structured, therapeutic, and predictable learning environment.
• Promote social-emotional skill development and model positive behavior.
• Maintain thorough documentation and participate actively in IEP meetings.
• Work closely with support staff to create consistent and collaborative interventions.
