Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a 1st grade resource room. This contract position spans late August to early November and is based at a single school near Cherry Hill, NJ. You'll provide crucial in-class support, helping students thrive in an inclusive educational environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching license strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in resource or self-contained classrooms, especially with 1st grade, is a plus
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to adapt instruction and materials to individual student needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working onsite and participating in virtual interviews (Zoom)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction within a 1st grade classroom
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Support students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
  • Collect data and monitor progress toward IEP goals
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere for all students
  • Participate in IEP meetings, planning sessions, and district trainings as needed
