A rewarding opportunity is available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to serve K-12 students in a nurturing school environment located in Bennettsville, SC. This contract role supports a comprehensive special education program across early childhood and high school settings, providing meaningful impact to diverse student populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a self-contained PreK caseload in a 3-4 year-old classroom, delivering individualized instruction and support tailored to developmental needs.
- Provide special education services in a high school setting, working with resource students (22-25 students) and potentially leading a self-contained classroom (~10 students).
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports.
- Engage in required physical activities associated with classroom management and student support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active South Carolina Teaching License with Multi-Category and Early Childhood endorsements.
- Experience in special education settings, preferably across multiple age groups (PreK to high school).
- Ability to manage a classroom with physical demands, including lifting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and collaborative teamwork.
Location: Bennettsville, South Carolina
Schedule: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
Position Type: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
Work Arrangement: Onsite presence required; virtual/hybrid options not available
