Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island teaching certification in Special Education (mild/moderate or severe).
• Prior experience working with elementary students, preferably those with developmental disabilities.
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication abilities and teamwork mindset.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and individualized support to a dedicated group of nine students in grades 3-4.
• Collaborate with teacher assistants and other school staff in maintaining a 1:3 student/assistant ratio.
• Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligning with student strengths and needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional learning opportunities.
• Engage parents and guardians in student progress and collaborate on educational strategies.
