Position Overview
Sunbelt Staffing is looking for a resilient and dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom in the Cassopolis area. This onsite position is critical for supporting a high school caseload of students with significant emotional and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a self-contained classroom of approximately 12 students (Grades 7-11).
Support students with Severe Emotional Impairments (EI) through specialized instruction and behavioral interventions.
Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while tracking progress toward social and academic goals.
Foster a safe, structured environment focused on emotional regulation and resiliency.
Qualifications
Michigan Special Education License required.
Must hold a valid Emotional Impairment (EI) or Autism (ASD) endorsement.
Proven experience working with secondary students in a self-contained or behavioral setting.
Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check prior to starting.
