Make a remarkable difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a close-knit group of learners in a communication disorder classroom for kinder-4th grade. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work weekdays, Monday through Friday, and focus on delivering individualized care and educational plans to a manageable caseload of just 10 students.
Youll collaborate with dedicated education professionals in an uplifting environment, helping students develop their communication abilities and confidence. Your expertise and compassion will empower every child to achieve meaningful progress.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid IL LBS1 credential/certification
- Prior experience in special education settings appreciated
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators and related service providers
- Passionate about fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans targeting communication and social skills
- Track and document student progress towards IEP goals
- Adapt teaching methods and tools to best meet individual learning needs
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
