Job Description

A full-time Special Education teaching role is available within a school setting, located in Canton, MI. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with diverse caseloads including elementary and high school students requiring specialized support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students in two elementary ASD-CI classrooms, one high school ASD classroom, and one resource room.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and development.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan license in Special Education with certification in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Cognitive Impairment (CI).
  • Experience teaching students with special education needs, particularly ASD or CI.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop personalized instructional strategies for diverse learners.
