A school district in Ypsilanti, MI is seeking four qualified Special Education Teachers to join their team on a full-time contract basis. Positions will begin ASAP and run through June 5, 2026. This opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about supporting students with special needs in a variety of classroom settings.
Locations: Ypsilanti, MI
Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 5, 2026
Work Schedule: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special education needs
- Manage caseloads including two Elementary ASD-Classroom Instructor (CI) rooms, one High School ASD room, and one Resource room
- Collaborate with classroom aides, therapists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor and assess student progress to tailor instructional approaches accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal special education regulations
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education teaching license with a Classroom Instructor (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and in resource room settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with staff and families
- Ability to manage multiple caseloads responsibly and maintain a positive learning environment
