Job Description

Bring your passion for making a difference to a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. Set in an engaging school community near Cannon Air Force Base, this contract role offers a chance to support students across a broad spectrum of needsincluding high school English and Biology (requiring high school certification), resource roles at the middle school level, multiple elementary Intensive Learning Center classrooms, a pullout/inclusion combination, and PreK special education.

Your expertise will be valued in a collaborative, on-site setting where personalized instruction and advocacy for diverse learners take center stage. This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with a standard 37.5-hour work week.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Active New Mexico teaching license with appropriate SPED and content area certifications
  • Demonstrated experience in special education, preferably in high school English, Biology, resource, or elementary ILC settings
  • Strong instructional skills and commitment to differentiated, student-centered approaches
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom culture for children of varying abilities

  • Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
