This rewarding, on-site contract opportunity spans the full academic year, from August through May, and centers on providing dedicated instruction in a self-contained classroom environment. Key Qualifications:

• Valid (or pending) New Mexico Special Education licensure
• Experience or strong interest in working with students with significant behavioral or intensive learning needs
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and challenges
• Clear communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements
• Build supportive, positive relationships with students in a self-contained setting
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, paraeducators, therapists, and families to foster student progress
• Apply effective classroom management techniques for high behavioral needs
• Participate in staff development, team meetings, and ongoing professional learning
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all students
