Make a meaningful impact supporting first graders as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming resource classroom setting near Camden, NJ. This contract role begins August 29th and runs through November 6th, offering the opportunity to work full-time on a single campus, providing focused instruction and support within an in-class resource room for 1st grade students.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid New Jersey special education teaching license strongly preferred
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally in a resource or inclusive classroom
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and creating individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills to work with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to first grade students in a resource room setting
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing student success plans
- Maintain accurate records and comply with school district requirements
