Job Description

Exciting opportunity available for an experienced Special Education Teacher with a passion for empowering middle school students. This contract position is based onsite and offers a chance to work hands-on in a resource room setting for the 2026 school year. Serving a dedicated caseload of 10-15 students, youll have the opportunity to make a direct impact in a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland certification as a Secondary Special Education Teacher (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and classroom modifications
  • Professional experience working with middle school students in a resource room or similar environment preferred
  • Ability to develop tailored instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to a fluid caseload of middle school students in the resource room
  • Adapt and modify lesson plans based on student needs and IEP requirements
  • Track and report on student progress, collaborating with the wider school team
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing mentorship activities
