Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students in a special education setting, preferably within an elementary, middle, or high school environment
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to fostering student growth
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and areas for growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning opportunities
- Engage with families to provide updates on student progress and offer resources or strategies for continued growth
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and adaptive technologies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Track and report students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Maintain a nurturing, structured classroom atmosphere that encourages student independence and confidence
