Job Description

Shape the future for young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting prekindergarten and kindergarten students in a dedicated sub-separate classroom setting near Cambridge, MA. This contract opportunity focuses on providing tailored instruction and fostering a supportive learning environment within a team-oriented atmosphere. Work closely with a manageable caseload of 6 students, collaborate with 4 program assistants and a BCBA, and help every child reach their potential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid MA SPED (Special Education) license required
  • Experience working with early childhood or elementary special education students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
  • Ability to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered educational practices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement specialized instruction for prekindergarten and kindergarten students with diverse needs
  • Develop, review, and update IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supervise and mentor 4 program assistants to deliver effective classroom support
  • Partner with the onsite BCBA to integrate behavioral supports and interventions
  • Foster a positive, structured, and engaging classroom community
  • Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration regarding student progress

This position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Compensation for this position ranges from $24.00 to $47.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
