Full-Time Elementary Special Education Teacher | Burlington, WI

A school district in the Burlington area is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained classroom with approximately 9-10 students.

This position offers the opportunity to provide individualized instruction, collaborate with a supportive educational team, and make a lasting impact on student growth throughout the school year.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Providing specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Creating and implementing IEP goals and accommodations
  • Monitoring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress
  • Adapting lesson plans and instructional materials
  • Maintaining compliance with special education guidelines and documentation requirements
  • Partnering with families, therapists, and school staff to support student success
  • Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Creating a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Wisconsin Special Education Teaching License
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
  • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation

Preferred:

  • Experience in a self-contained classroom setting
  • Elementary special education experience
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
