Bring your expertise in special education to an engaging early childhood classroom setting near Broomfield, CO! This is a full-time, onsite contract role supporting preschool students, where you'll be the lead teacher for both morning and afternoon sessions at a vibrant PK-8 elementary school.
In this position, you'll guide up to 18 students per class alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals, ensuring a dynamic learning environment supported by in-class occupational and speech-language therapists. You'll also serve as the case manager and service provider for up to 10 students requiring Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) support, playing a vital role in their educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado CDE ECSE (Early Childhood Special Educator) license is required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting, ideally with early childhood/preschool populations
- Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists
- Ability to manage caseloads, develop IEPs, and communicate effectively with families and team members
- Organizational skills to handle classroom and case management responsibilities across two daily sessions
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead teacher for both AM and PM preschool groups
- Provide direct ECSE services and case management for up to 10 students
- Collaborate with classroom support staff, OT, and SLP to create inclusive lesson plans
- Track student progress, maintain educational documentation, and facilitate family communication
- Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment for preschoolers with diverse needs
