This full-time role involves working a consistent 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, from 7:15 am to 4:15 pm throughout the 26/27 school year. Skills & Experience Desired:
- Valid New York Special Education Teacher license
- Certification to teach grades 1-6
- Experience or practicum in elementary special education settings highly valued
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school environment
- Genuine passion for guiding and uplifting children with special needs
Your Role Includes:
- Carrying out all responsibilities typical for an elementary special education teacher
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Modifying curriculum content to best fit student abilities
- Collaborating closely with school professionals and families
- Maintaining accurate records and participating in required meetings
- Creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
