Candidates must be available for full-time hours, working 7:15 am to 4:15 pm, and will be responsible for typical duties associated with an elementary special education teaching role.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York Special Education Teacher license
- Certification to teach grades 1-6
- Experience or strong interest in supporting elementary-grade students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) effectively
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in an inclusive classroom setting
- Develop, monitor, and adjust IEPs to suit each student's needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student growth
- Maintain accurate records and progress documentation
- Foster a supportive, positive learning environment tailored to each child
- Participate in staff development, IEP meetings, and parent conferences as required
