Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelors degree or higher in Education or related field
- Previous experience working with students who have a range of disabilities
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Collaborative attitude for working with staff, parents, and support services
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver engaging lessons in inclusive or self-contained classroom settings
- Assess student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, safe learning environment that encourages student participation
- Document and communicate student progress to families and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize technology and resources to enhance instruction
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and parent conferences as needed
