Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Understanding of various disabilities and proven strategies for modifying curriculum

What You'll Do:

  • Design, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet each students unique needs
  • Write and maintain accurate IEPs, progress notes, and documentation
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
  • Participate in IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences
  • Assess and track students progress toward academic, social, and behavioral goals
  • Work with paraprofessionals and related service providers to support student achievement
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws
