Requirements:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License
• Experience supporting high school-age students, preferably in special education settings
• Ability to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning needs
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with students, families, and team members
• Flexibility, adaptability, and strong organizational abilities to manage varied caseloads

Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging instruction and support to high school students with special needs, fostering academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring all documentation and progress reports are completed accurately and on time
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive and adaptive learning environment
• Use evidence-based strategies and accommodations to meet each students unique challenges
• Communicate regularly and proactively with families to ensure consistent support and progress
