This position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 13, 2026, with a brief follow-up term from September 1, 2026, to October 15, 2026. Daily hours are from 8:20 am to 3:40 pm, allowing for a structured yet balanced workday.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher (CT SPED) license is required.
  • Prior experience in special education settings, particularly at the elementary level, is preferred.
  • Skill in supporting social-emotional and behavioral learning needs in children.
  • Collaborative spirit for working with fellow educators, support staff, and families.
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs and behavioral intervention plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver individualized instructional activities for a social emotional behavioral classroom serving grades 3-5.
  • Monitor and support students social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for every student.
  • Foster positive relationships, modeling appropriate behavior and social-emotional skills.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation related to IEPs and student progress.
