Job Description

A rewarding full-time, onsite opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher experienced in supporting elementary students in a self-contained setting. This contract role is ideal for compassionate educators skilled in creating structured, inclusive environments for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based practices for students with ASD.
  • Establish a classroom environment that nurtures communication, behavior, and sensory needs.
  • Utilize data collection as well as progress monitoring tools to inform instructional practices and interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with special education teams, general education teachers, therapists, and families.
  • Implement effective behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and provide positive behavior supports.
  • Foster communication, social, and life skills among students.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all federal, state, and district special education guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Approved as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
  • Deep understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
