This full-time, onsite opportunity is ideal for a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting. The role focuses on designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), employing evidence-based instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing IEPs tailored to each student's strengths and challenges.
- Delivering differentiated instruction that accommodates communication, behavior, and sensory needs.
- Establishing a structured classroom environment that fosters learning and social development.
- Utilizing data-driven progress monitoring to adjust teaching approaches and interventions effectively.
- Collaborating closely with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families.
- Implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and promoting positive behavior supports.
- Supporting students development of communication, social, and life skills.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
Desired qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
- Strong knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
