Job Description
Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher with a dedicated K-2nd grade life skills caseload for the upcoming academic year. This onsite opportunity offers a rewarding contract running from August 20, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Youll provide focused, personalized support for a small group of students, helping them achieve their goals in both academic and life skills development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Texas Special Education (SPED) teaching license (required)
- Experience working with K-2nd grade students and life skills programs preferred
- Knowledge of implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
- Ability to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to a caseload of four K-2nd grade students with life skills needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and district regulations
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Foster student independence in daily living and academic tasks
- Track progress and communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Create a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
