Job Description

A part-time teaching position is available for a certified professional to provide both General Education and Special Education instruction to a homebound first-grade student. The student has an Other Health Disability (OHD) with cognitive impairment and requires individualized support due to circumstances related to COVID-19. Instruction will be delivered primarily in person at the school or possibly after school hours, totaling approximately 10 hours per week (about one hour daily for each teaching area if the candidate is dual-certified).

Location:
Services will be provided in the vicinity of Bovey, MN, with nearby cities including Ball Club (9 minutes away), Suomi (17 minutes), and Grand Rapids (17 minutes).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction in both General Education and Special Education, addressing the unique learning needs of a student with cognitive impairments.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain required documentation and communication aligned with special education guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota teaching license with certification in Special Education (any area) and Elementary General Education. Dual certification preferred.
  • Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and knowledge of strategies to support OHD disabilities.
  • Ability to manage flexible scheduling and provide instruction outside regular school hours if necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with parents, school staff, and special education leadership.
