Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in an onsite school setting. As an educator passionate about making a positive difference, you'll provide targeted instruction in both Math and English Language Arts to middle and high school students during two vital assignment periods throughout the school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
  • Active Illinois Special Education certification.
  • Experience teaching Math and ELA at the middle or high school level (preferred).
  • Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills.
  • Dedicated to supporting students with a variety of learning needs in an inclusive environment.
  • Effective communicator with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Math and ELA to assigned special education caseloads.
  • Adapt and individualize curriculum for students with diverse learning profiles.
  • Collaborate with school staff, support personnel, and families to ensure students' IEP goals are met.
  • Manage and document student progress, assessments, and required paperwork accurately.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivating classroom climate.
  • Provide coverage for two essential timeframes:
    • Middle School (Instructional Math and ELA): approximately Nov. 20, 2026 March 10, 2027.
    • High School (Instructional Math, ELA): approximately Feb. 4, 2027 May 7, 2027.
