Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (current or eligible in Massachusetts)
- Proven classroom experience working with students who have a range of disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
- Positive communicator who collaborates effectively with general education staff, families, and service providers
- Creative problem-solver with adaptable teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles
- Experience with assistive technology or behavior intervention plans is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students unique needs and goals
- Deliver engaging instruction in small groups or one-on-one settings using evidence-based practices
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students are respected and valued
- Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and communicate updates to parents and team members
- Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and other educators to ensure student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
- Modify curriculum and adapt teaching methods to help all students access learning
