Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active state Special Education teaching certification
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Familiarity with various instructional modifications and assistive technologies
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff
- Ability to manage a diverse classroom, providing differentiated instruction for students with varying needs
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom atmosphere
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student development
- Conduct parent meetings and participate in conferences as required
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student records and progress
- Provide interventions and supports for behavioral and academic challenges
