Job Description
A fulfilling opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This contract role is based in a welcoming school environment near Bolingbrook, IL, and covers the 2026-2027 school year. The assignment is 35 hours per week, working with early childhood through grade 8 students in programs fostering growth, inclusion, and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Professional Educators License (PEL) valid for Illinois schools, issued through ISBE
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, general education staff, and related services providers
- Strong organizational abilities to manage a diverse caseload and ensure timely documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction tailored to individual student IEPs
- Employ strategies that promote student independence, skill acquisition, and positive behavior
- Assess academic and developmental progress, maintaining detailed records and reports
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement behavioral intervention plans
- Communicate student goals, progress, and strategies with parents and caregivers to strengthen home-school connections
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs across early childhood and K-8 grade levels
