As a Special Education Teacher in an Emotional Disabilities (ED) environment, youll work in a highly structured classroom within an alternative education setting for the 20262027 school year. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction tailored to students IEPs
  • Implement effective behavior intervention plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Foster a structured, consistent, and therapeutic classroom atmosphere
  • Actively support the development of social-emotional skills and self-regulation
  • Collaborate with behavioral specialists, administrative teams, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for every student
  • Maintain accurate documentation, monitor student progress, and participate in IEP meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current South Carolina Special Education certification or eligibility required
  • Direct experience with emotional disabilities, behavioral interventions, or alternative education settings is highly preferred
  • Skilled in classroom management, de-escalation, and crisis intervention techniques
  • Able to demonstrate patience, consistency, and a student-centered approach in challenging situations
