Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the 2026-2027 school year supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative, student-centered environment. This contract opportunity offers dedicated professionals the chance to serve in multiple schools throughout the Beaufort area and Hilton Head Island, focusing on both elementary and middle school levels. Youll provide critical support, helping students of varying abilities reach their potential in both supplemental and intensive support settings.
Ideal candidates are passionate about delivering personalized instruction, are adaptable, and thrive when advocating for diverse learners. Multiple positions are available and youll have access to detailed assignment information during the interview process.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for South Carolina
- Previous experience in special education or related classroom settings preferred
- Ability to support students with multiple exceptionalities, ASD, and social-emotional needs
- Understanding of IEP processes and individualized learning strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans in resource, inclusion, or specialized classrooms
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and ongoing professional development
- Provide both direct instruction and supplemental support, depending on student needs
This contract position begins August 2026 and ends June 2027. All positions are onsite at elementary or middle school campuses in the greater Beaufort region and Hilton Head Island.
