Job Description

Step confidently into a vital Special Education teaching position for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Four contract opportunities await committed educators passionate about enriching students' educational journeys in inclusive and supportive environments. These roles are available at various school levels, from elementary to high school, all located on Hilton Head Island, with additional openings nearby.

As an onsite Special Education Teacher, you'll work within diverse educational settings, including Intensive Support/Autism and Supplemental roles, as well as a Hybrid Support model at the middle school level. Your expertise will help ensure every learners unique needs are met, fostering growth, academic achievement, and positive social development.

Key Qualifications & Desired Background:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification/licensure
  • Proven experience in special education instructional methods (elementary, middle, or high school)
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues, families, and related service providers
  • Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder (for Intensive Support role) is a plus
  • Adaptability and a compassionate, student-centered approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to student needs
  • Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with the educational team
  • Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize growth and independence
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members to discuss student progress
  • Contribute input and support for school initiatives that benefit students with exceptional needs

These full-time contract positions span from August 2026 to June 2027 and offer the chance to make a significant difference for students and their families.
