Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students with significant communication and developmental needs in a highly individualized classroom setting. This full-time onsite role for the 26/27 school year focuses on a K-3 Intensive Communication Program (ICP), serving a caseload of six students alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals. Youll make a difference for children with autism, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and complex communication challenges, many of whom utilize AAC devices.

Ideal candidates are skilled in delivering instruction within structured, self-contained environments, using evidence-based strategies such as the Unique Learning System. The classroom environment is centered on functional communication, fostering independence, foundational academic skill development, and maximizing student engagement.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Illinois Educator Certification required
• Background working with students with moderate to significant disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum
• Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and supporting complex communication needs
• Ability to create and implement individualized, significantly modified instructional plans
• Skilled in using visual supports, structured routines, and differentiated instruction
• Comfortable collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Strong commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and structured classroom atmosphere
