Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational staff
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Positive, flexible, and organized mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a classroom setting to students with diverse abilities
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with legal requirements and best practices
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, and support professionals to coordinate services
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with students families and advocate for student needs
- Assist with transitions and behavioral support as needed
