Job Description

We're seeking passionate professionals to fill multiple contract roles providing specialized instruction for elementary and high school students. The greatest need is for educators experienced in self-contained elementary classrooms, where youll enrich the lives of students in small-group settings (typically 4-6 students per class).

Key qualifications:

  • Valid Alabama SPED licensure required (verify credentials here: https://tcert.alsde.edu/Portal/Public/Pages/SearchCerts.aspx).
  • For elementary roles: K-6 certification.
  • For secondary roles: 6-12 certification.
  • Willingness to work onsite throughout the contract duration.
  • Adaptability to various caseloads, focusing primarily on elementary self-contained, with high school opportunities also available.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction in line with students IEPs.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, and families to ensure student growth.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Participate in school and district meetings, trainings, and professional development.

This contract begins August 6, 2026 and runs through May 27, 2027, with a 37.5 hour work week.
