As a Special Education Teacher, youll provide guidance and instruction to students in K8 chartered for unique needsranging from primarily nonverbal to verbal learners, all within a nurturing classroom environment.

This position is contract-based, beginning July 29, 2026, and continuing through May 21, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours at one assigned school. Multiple roles are available, with classrooms designated for K3, 46, or 78 grades, allowing you to focus on your area of passion and expertise.

What were seeking:

• Valid Mississippi Special Education certification (SPED)
• Experience or genuine interest in working with children with severe disabilities (verbal and nonverbal)
• Adaptability in instructional approaches to meet a wide range of learning, communication, and behavioral needs
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with families, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom environments

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and differentiated learning strategies to accommodate student needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and maintain clear documentation
• Advocate for students academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Participate in virtual interviews as part of the selection process
