Key Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Mississippi Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience working with students with severe disabilities, including both verbal and non-verbal learners
• Flexibility in adapting communication and instructional strategies to suit individual student needs
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work independently in a self-directed manner
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to K3rd, 4th6th, or 7th8th grade students as assigned, with a focus on meeting the individual educational goals of students with severe disabilities
• Develop tailored lesson plans, IEP goals, and assessments in cooperation with general education teachers and support staff
• Utilize a range of communication techniques, including augmentative and alternative communication as needed
• Track and report student progress, modifying instructional approaches based on data-driven insights
• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, nurturing school culture
• Engage in virtual panel interviews as part of the selection process
