Step into an impactful contract role supporting elementary-aged students as a Special Education Teacher starting mid-April through June. You'll work full-time in a dynamic school setting, using your expertise to create a positive learning environment for young learners. This position is ideal for educators who are committed, adaptable, and ready to engage in both academic and behavioral support.
Your essential qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education N-12, Special Education N-8, or Special Education 7-12
- Comfortable working with elementary-age caseloads in a school environment
- Willingness and ability to be trained in TACT-2 methods, including behavior assessment and appropriate physical restraint as needed
- Proficient with basic computer skills for using computer-based and web-based educational programs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Flexibility and resilience in navigating the daily needs of a diverse student population
Key responsibilities youll handle:
- Deliver individualized instructional strategies for students with a variety of special needs
- Implement TACT-2 behavior assessment and intervention strategies to support student success
- Apply restraint safely and judiciously when required, in accordance with student support plans
- Utilize school district electronic platforms for attendance, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Foster a welcoming, positive classroom culture promoting learning and social development
- Collaborate regularly with fellow educators, therapists, and families to monitor and enhance student progress
