Job Description
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with emotional support needs in an elementary school setting. The role is focused on delivering specialized instruction and fostering a positive classroom environment for 3rd to 5th-grade students.
Location:
- Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (within the Allentown school district)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to students in an Emotional Support classroom
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
- Monitor and document student progress regularly
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Qualifications:
- Fully active Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education (emergency permits are not accepted)
- Experience teaching in special education settings, preferably with elementary-aged students
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and adapt instruction to diverse learning styles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to professional ethics and ongoing development
Position Details:
- Contract duration: Immediate start through June 10, 2026
- Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Workweek: 35 hours
