Step into a rewarding role supporting students with significant developmental and communication needs in an Intensive Communication Program for grades K-3. This opportunity offers a full-time, onsite position for the 26/27 school year, working alongside a dedicated team including two paraprofessionals. The classroom environment is highly individualized, structured, and focused on building student independence, engagement, and foundational academic skills.

What Were Looking For:

• Valid Illinois Educator Certification
• Experience supporting students with moderate to significant disabilities, including autism, intellectual disability, and developmental delays
• Comfort working in a highly structured, self-contained classroom setting
• Knowledge of or openness to using AAC devices and strategies for students with complex communication needs
• Familiarity with significantly modified academic instruction and specialized curriculums such as Unique Learning System
• Ability to implement visual supports, structured routines, and individualized learning plans
• Strong collaboration skills with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Commitment to fostering student independence and functional communication

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals and program curriculum
• Adapt teaching approaches to fit the diverse needs and learning styles of students
• Employ visual supports, behavior management, and assistive technology as needed
• Maintain a highly organized, predictable classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service team members, and families
• Track student progress and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
