Work closely with general education colleagues in a dynamic team-teaching setting, focusing your expertise on math content and supporting a group of 15-20 students inside a larger classroom. This contract opportunity offers flexibility regarding virtual or in-person instruction, and the position is based near Berwyn, IL.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License (CT SPED license required)
- Strong background in math instruction and content knowledge
- Experience working directly with students in a team-based or collaborative teaching environment
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Comfortable adapting to various classroom and learning formats
Primary Responsibilities:
- Take a leading role in instructing and supporting a group of 15-20 students alongside two general education teachers in a shared classroom setting
- Develop, adapt, and deliver math-focused lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Employ a range of teaching strategies and interventions to support individualized learning goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement effective instructional plans
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEPs as needed
