Job Description
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at an elementary school located in Berwyn, IL. This contract position offers the chance to support diverse learners in an engaging educational environment for the current school year.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
- Adapt general education lessons to accommodate learning differences and promote student success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive classroom settings
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain an organized and supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters growth and development
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or licensure
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage classroom behaviors and implement effective interventions
