Make a meaningful impact on students lives by providing vital support as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time, contract position serving K-3rd grade. This opportunity is based near Bernalillo, NM and focuses on a social communication classroom, allowing you to utilize your expertise and dedication in a rewarding educational environment.
Start as soon as possible and work through the end of the school year (6/4/2027), collaborating with school staff to deliver quality instruction and specialized support to young learners with diverse social communication needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid New Mexico teaching license and NMPED credentials required
- Previous experience teaching special education, preferably grades K-3
- Skilled in classroom management and adapting lessons to individual students
- Familiarity with social communication strategies and interventions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with families and school teams
- Comfortable with virtual interview process (Zoom)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support positive student engagement and foster a nurturing classroom environment
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with district requirements
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to support academic, behavioral, and social goals
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure progress and provide resources
