Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a communication disorder classroom. Working with a group of approximately 10 students from kindergarten through 4th grade, youll play a vital role in helping each child reach their fullest potential in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid IL Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-4th grade), especially those with communication disorders, is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for fostering individual student growth and advocating for inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with communication challenges
- Design, monitor, and update IEP goals in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Collect data to track student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
- Provide a safe, structured classroom environment that promotes both academic and social-emotional growth
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff to ensure continuity of student supports
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
