Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a communication disorder classroom. Working with a group of approximately 10 students from kindergarten through 4th grade, youll play a vital role in helping each child reach their fullest potential in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid IL Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-4th grade), especially those with communication disorders, is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting diverse learning needs
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for fostering individual student growth and advocating for inclusive education

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with communication challenges
• Design, monitor, and update IEP goals in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Collect data to track student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• Provide a safe, structured classroom environment that promotes both academic and social-emotional growth
• Communicate regularly with families and school staff to ensure continuity of student supports
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
