Job Description

This contract role is based near Bennington, NE and serves a welcoming high school community not far from Omaha. Your expertise will ensure every student receives the individualized support they need to thrive.

In this position, youll carry primary case-management duties, which include writing effective and compliant IEPs, facilitating IEP meetings, and managing ongoing documentation using the state SRS system. While most responsibilities will center on resource and co-taught classes, occasional instruction in basic subject-area courses may be required.

What were looking for:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience serving high school students (grades 9-12) in a special education capacity
  • Skilled in developing and managing IEPs and holding collaborative meetings
  • Familiarity with state IEP management systems (SRS or similar preferred)
  • Strength in communication, organization, and adapting to student needs
  • Comfort in both resource and co-teaching environments; flexible with teaching responsibilities as needed

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of students with diverse abilities
  • Leading, documenting, and following up on IEP processes
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Teaching resource or co-taught classes, and supporting in basic instructional classes if needed
  • Maintaining student progress records and ensuring compliance with state requirements
