Key qualifications and experience:

• Valid Nebraska Special Education (NE SPED) license required
• Prior experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
• Background in teaching students with severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting highly valued
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Demonstrated commitment to cultivating inclusive, nurturing classroom environments

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to middle school students with severe disabilities
• Develop, implement, and update IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Adapt curriculum content and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Foster positive, engaging classroom dynamics that promote independence and growth
• Engage regularly with parents, guardians, and fellow educators to communicate progress and strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all federal and state special education guidelines
