Job Description

This full-time position extends through the 2026-27 school year (ASAP start through June 2027), offering consistent hours Monday through Friday (3537.5 hours weekly). The classroom environment is highly personalized, supporting a small group of just three dedicated students this year, allowing you to make significant, meaningful connections and tailor your teaching approach for maximum impact.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience with life skills or intensive needs programming, preferably at the upper elementary/middle school level
  • Strong case management skills, including IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom staff, related service providers, and families
  • Creative, flexible approach to individualized instruction and behavior management
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instruction for students with intensive needs in a self-contained setting
  • Maintain and monitor IEP goals, documentation, and progress reports
  • Manage all case coordinationincluding meetings, parent communication, and collaboration with general education team members
  • Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment centered on functional life skills, social-emotional growth, and academic development
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies to support varied learning styles and needs
